    Hitachi 1TB 7200rpm vs WD EARS 2TB 5900rpm hard disk drive on HD Tacho

    Hi guys

    I know HD Tacho is of only semi use in real terms.. but as I have a new 2TD 5900rpm Western Dig HDD here for Sair's new rig thought I'd whip it up against the trusty Hitachi 1TB 7200 rpm drives I love to use.



    Looks like the density of these new high space drives brings the speeds up, even if random access is understandably lower.

    These 2tb drives are surprising fast for bulk data storage my raid 5 array with 3 seagate drives tops out at 250 mb/s
