IOPS are rising and while excellent 2.5" drives are now getting cheap (http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/storag...-240gb/?page=8) the headline performance of PCI SSDs seems that much better:

I remember early SSDs had issues with sub-block fragmentation and needed a secure erase every 6 months to keep the performance up, whereas now that's largely sorted. Are there any risks to using PCI SSDs currently?
