Corsair Have finally ditched the dreaded Sandforce controller

    http://hexus.net/tv/show/2012/06/Cor...ron_Series_SSD

This SSD uses a Link_a_media devices controller and the Neutron should cost the same as the Force GT (£94.94 @ Scan for 120GB) So they should be good value. The GTX version also uses toggle nand which we have seen the Sandisk Extreme made good use of! They will also have 80K IOPS read and write. I am hoping it can live up to this. I am happy that there is a new controller coming into play because Sandforce has had so many problems

Re: Corsair Have finally ditched the dreaded Sandforce controller

I might hold off for the first few weeks//months to see If there are any problems with the Link-A-Media device controller before giving them a try, I'm hoping over the next year I can move over entirely to the SSD platform and if prices keep dropping like they are I imagine a lot of other people will start to do the same.

No way I will jump on another new controller like I did with Sandforce

I am going to stay with either Marvell or Samsung controllers for the mean time but this LAMD controller could change my opinion on that. I will still leave it until the first few firmware patches.
