    Few SSD's for my build

    Hey guys,

Looking to get a few SSD's for my build. One for the OS and another for programs and games.

For storage i have 4TB External that I'll be using. A 120gb or 180gb will be fine for the OS and a the main programs, and a 256gb since they are kinda of cheap with all these deals going around. But if there are 480GB versions for a good price, i don't mind getting that as it will last for a while.

Just want to know which you recommend for the uses above.

Maybe this is too late, but for a 256gb drive I'd go for the Samsung 830, which can be found for £140-£145, £15-£20 cheaper than the M4, faster write speeds, and a few extras unless you get the Basic Kit (which is often more expensive?!).

At the 512gb size, the reverse is true by a huge margin. M4 is <£300, while the Sammy is close to £500.

Bottom Line : Check deals daily, and avoid Sandforce at all costs.

Your not late lol, still haven't got round to ordering them. I'm going on holiday in a few months so i may buy them then. I'm looking at getting rid of mechanical drives entirely from inside my rig, only using SSD's inside and my 4TB NAS for storage. So i think i'll go for 256gb Samsung as OS and few programs and also a 480gb Crucial M4 other larger programs and a games.

I'm currently using a 120gb Mushkin Chronos, with the 2281 sandforce and its fine although i have heard people have drives which are failing in a short period of time.
