    Ultrastar SAS 147gb

Right guys think ive made a wrong judgement
just snapped up one of these on ebay for a few quid,
am i right in thinking it is compatible with a Z68 Motherboard?
or will i still need the SAS port to work?
    (they look very expensive)
    Cheers

You need a separate SAS controller. Half-decent controllers that with a UEFI BIOS are very expensive - £300+. Maybe there's a low-end one that only does JBOD, but I've never needed to look for one.

SATA drives can be used on SAS controllers. You cannot use SAS drives on SATA controllers.
