on a crucial M4 128gb im getting 280 sequentil read and 160 write....
been reading around and the controller maxes out at 300?

I'm afraid so, I would avoid using them at all costs as the transfer rates aren't that great. if you look around the web many people are not happy with it either. Stick to Intel based ones

sadly yes - gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3 , althought gave ssdtweaker a good run so read is up to 350 now
