    Hard Drive Configuration

I sort of covered this a bit in another thread but since i'll be orering today and still ot made a decision i thought I'd ask here.

So in my build im currently thinking of

    1x 256gb ssd
    2x 2tb hdd's

Now on the SSD my original thinking was that i'd install the OS, crucial programs and the odd game but then i'm wondering if it might be big enough to cover everything. The thing putting me off this is the size of recent games like BF3 which i think is about 16gb itself. Another thing is steam, looking at it on my current comuter its about 66gb and thats with most uninstalled, but even when they are gone it seems to keep some big files behind for some games. I assume it'll just leep getting bigger and bigger.

So I suppose do i put one of the 2tb hdd's aside for games, or do i use the ssd?

One of the hdd's will be purely for business so thats out of the equation.

One thing i dont want is to be constantly making space.

    Thanks guys

    Re: Hard Drive Configuration

Depends how many games you have & other programs.
As a point of reference: I currently have 60GB on my boot drive (inc. 20GB of itunes music) and 300GB (and rising) of games - so it would not work for me.

Have you considered RAID0 on the HDDs? Or maybe grab 2x250-500GB drives to RAID0 for games and a further 2TB drive for general storage.

    Re: Hard Drive Configuration

I think steams going to tip it over the edge in terms of fitting it on the hdd.

Maybe have the ssd for OS and programs, then put all games on the hdd. How beneficial is it to have games on the sdd, just for loading times?

Would be handy to be able to put some steam games on say the sdd and some on the hdd.
