In the last 9 months I've lost two OCZ Vertex, and yesterday one Sandisk Ultra. Still working is the Crucial M4. All 120GB.
Two dead OCZ Agility 3s, one intel gen 2 briefly died due to crap firmware, samsung and kingston ssds rock solid.
Yet to have an SSD fail, though to be fair, I usually don't have them for as long as 6 months. Current drive (M4) hasn't failed yet.
I have tried 3 different SSDs: Corsair Force GT, Intel 320 series and Crucial M4...
Corsair Force GT: I bought it 3 days after it was first released...terrible! Couldn't use it for more than a week without encountering BSOD.
Crucial M4: So far so good! Approximately 8 months and still going fine
Intel SSD 320 series: Used it for only 2 months before selling it away. No problems during that period
I've got a 64gb Crucial M4 that is still going strong, now in my laptop.
I've got 2x Samsung 830 128GB that are awesome.
Just ordered a 256GB 830 for a friends build too.
Corsair F120 (sandforce) still going strong for me for over two years I think now. Good old SF-1222 controller.
Same here. My Samsung 830 has been rock solid since I bought it, & hasn't had a single firmware 'upgrade' either...I think Samsung tend to get such things right first time! (cough, OCZ, cough!).
I also have an Intel X-25 G2 which has never given me any problems, despite multiple firmware updates. At least lntel's updates are non-destructive too, which make life much easier.
I have 2x 120GB Corsair Force 3's (non GT) and they've both been rock solid for the duration I had them.
According to Amazon ive had these for a year.
Instant Order Update for Scott ***. You purchased this item on 9 Dec 2011
They both came with the latest firmware at the time (1.3?)
Had my Crucial M4 for 16 months, and so far no problems whatsoever. Good firmware support from Crucial. Mine is getting full so might add a second one soon which will either be another Crucial or a Samsung or Intel drive. I wouldn't touch OCZ at all.
I haven't voted as it won't allow me.
Running two rigs with OCZ Synapse 128gb SSD Cache drives for close to 10 months, only had a couple of issues with Dataplex, one where the software didn't uninstall correctly during a software update and another where the PC wasn't starting up until the Dataplex was disabled. So far the SSDs themselves have been fine.
2 x Gen1 Samsung 64GB (pre-TRIM) = Hammered in main PC (RAID0) and now in HTPC - still going strong!
2 x Gen2 Intel 80GB = Hammered in main PC (sys partitions) and then relegated to steam/BF3 drive - still going strong in RAID 0 sans-TRIM
2 x Kingston 128GB v100 = Hammered in main PC (sys partitions) - 1 of them is failing and ready for RMA - keeps dropping out under stress :(
4 x Corsair Force 3 256GB = Hammered in NAS as ESX datastore (RAID5) - going strong but < 1 month old :P
2 x Samsung 830 256GB = Arrved at my desk today......new system drives, see how these go!
First encounter with an SSD drive was with the Corsair performance P256 sata 2. Needed a firmware update to support trim function, but other than that has worked flawlessly for the past 18 months+. No BSOD, No reliability issues.(Used in PC 24/7)
OCZ vertex plus 120gb (Purchased a few months ago on special offer for £39.99) needed a firmware update straight out of the box, update worked first time and the drive has breathed new life into a tired old samsung laptop. No BSOD so far. (Used average 2 hours per day)
No problems with either drive.
Although any future SSD purchases will be either samsung/intel/crucial.
Owned a OCZ Vertex 2e for over a year with no issues, now relegated to a Steam drive still going strong.
Crucial M4 128 now 6 months old without a hiccough.
Had a Crucial M225 that failed within a couple of weeks. The usual Crucial RMA service replaced it with a C300 which has been working flawlessy for nearly 2 years.
Corsair P64 also been working for about 2 years without issue, despite my best efforts to kill it flashing in TRIM support, and i-Tunes trying to kill it by using it as a dumping ground before I realised what was going on (last time I used that app!)
Intel Intel Intel FTW
I have 2 Intel SSDs, both perfect.
Crucial, Samsung, also very good.
But Intel all the way for me.
