Any recommendations?
Had a few Machine_check_exception blue screens lately, and now my 500gb WD storage HDD is giving me errors and looks like i may need a new drive. Hopefully i can get some of the data off of it.
From initial googling it looked like the 3tb Seagate Barracuda was the best value option at £90-95ish. A little more looking though and it seems it's only got a 1 year warranty, and is it's power-on rating as pointed out at tomshardware something to be a little worried about.
With it only replacing a 500gb drive i'm not too fussed about size but am just looking for best value for money for the drive/s i do end up getting. Given the PITA i may just be about to have trying to recover the data, a RAID 1 setup is looking rather appealing too right now.
Cheers for any ideas. Time to clear some space on my 1tb drive and try running HD tune/WinDLG/Spinrite etc...
