In an Elevated command Prompt window, type the following:
fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify
If
DisableDeleteNotify = 1 (Windows TRIM commands are disabled)
DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Windows TRIM commands are enabled)

I've always been sceptical of that command, and Google searches seem to back my assumption up (although I could still be wrong).
A couple of sites suggest that all DDN proves is that the OS will send the TRIM commands - it doesn't prove in any capacity that the drive is acting on those commands.
None, so far, have provided any definitive proof that it is polling the drives. In fact, none have even claimed it.
EDIT: Looks like this: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...ew-FW-Flashing explains it more thoroughly, specifically posts 2 + 3
As you can imagine, the process is fairly involved to actually check TRIM's status.
You can try utilizing a storage unit such as the Thecus N2520/N4520 2 or 4 bay units with SATA 3 connection, if you opt for the 4-bay you will able to build up to higher RAID levels compared to a double bay.
Thank you, it's enabled. LOLS.
that command is pointless - the Marvell 9128 sata 3 controller reports back ` enabled` but doesn't actually pass TRIM along l I myself verified this with my own crucial M4 - it started slowing right down , even with a forced TRIM run it didn't help - a reboot onto the sata 2 ports and voila - trim run and speed came back straight away
semantics - even if its enabled some controllers don't pass it along anyway - that and intel still haven't sorted trim in raid properly anyway , the latest orom and drivers don't play together.
No it's not. You said it's a useless command. It's not. If you turn it off in a system that can support TRIM, TRIM won't get passed. It's *the* setting you need to make sure is enabled in Windows for TRIM to work. What's with half of the internet suddenly using the word "semantics" when trying to debate a simple point?
If the command is "pointless" then everyone can turn it off without any issue, right? You know this isn't the case along with everyone else on here.
Yes, some. This has no bearing on the ones that do. The setting is a prerequisite for those that can. Check MSDN if in any doubt.
It's a hell of a lot better than it was. Some setups work fine with a new OROM, others don't play as nice currently.
actually you can turn off TRIM , as the SSD will then revert to its own built in garbage collection routine anyway - its how it works on MAC`s.....
except in RAID when even GC doesn't work.
