Exclamation Help - SSD might have just died!!

    Hi All,

I was just upgrading my graphics card to a 7850. Brilliant. The PC didn't boot properly after uninstalling the old drivers (I was using a 8800GT) and so I had to power off the PC by the power button. I waited to make sure the HDD lights weren't on when I did so.

But ever since the hard power off, my SDD isn't recognised by the BIOS at all. I've swapped power cables, SATA cable, SATA ports etc. All my other HDDs are seen and the ports all work OK.

Have I killed my SDD, or does anyone have any ideas how to resurrect it??!! Its a Crucial M4, 256GB, and its only 6-or-so months old, so it should be under warranty still, but I'd rather get it going that return it is possible....!!!

Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope.......

Doesn't look good I'm afraid. Can you try it in another machine ?
Although I'm at a loss to see how what you did would have affected the SSD.

Phew! after going onto Crucial s website to see how the RMA worked, I found this page which told me to recycle the power e few times..... and that fixed it!!!

Phew, I was a bit worried there for a minute!!
