Re: Storing games onto a SSD

i have 3 SSD's in the games rig, 1 for windows and program files, another for steam and origin (EA) games and a 60gb for page files and temp files.

Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack
off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.

I'd love to have everything on SSD's but they're too expensive at the moment... Still

    I trust that's a typo as gta 5 isn't out yet?
I don't think people should worry too much about page file if you've got 8gb of RAM. It's a shame that ssd prices are on the rise again. God damn NAND cartel!

Re: Storing games onto a SSD

Games should always load quicker on SSD's but it really depends on the game and types of assets used.

Re: Storing games onto a SSD

I'm surprised the amount of my PC gamer friends who think that an SSD is just for Windows. I wouldn't dream of having my games on a mech drive anymore, it cuts loading times down sooooo much.

Re: Storing games onto a SSD

Does having a page file while having at least 8GB is still worth while?
I haven't had a page file since I upgraded from my old Rock Pegasus 665...

Re: Storing games onto a SSD

Unless you often used up most of your ram, you could do away with the page file or at least reduce it in side

Re: Storing games onto a SSD

Page file is not about running out of RAM, and some programs might still prefer to have something there. It's a very good fit with the characteristics of an SSD too, so usually recommended.
