    Network Storage?

I'm not sure if this is at all possible or if it is, I'm not sure what hardware I would need but I'm looking to either stream or store videos/audio to a wireless device that can be connected to another TV. In a sense, I think AppleTV can do this but I'm not a huge fan of Apple and I'm aware this is only streaming. I would much prefer to be able to store the files on the device and switch my machine off. Is there anything that can do this?

So you want something like this? http://www.netgear.co.uk/home/produc.../RND2000.aspx#
I've a Netgear Stora, the precursor to this, I put my media files onto it, and I can stream it to my tablet, my xbox, phone etc, and its independant from my main pc.

    Re: Network Storage?

I run a unraid server and connect a WD live box to it for use with the tv/projector. It also have the air video server installed, allowing for direct streaming to an ipad. Its not the cheapest of options though.

    Re: Network Storage?

There are many many ways of achieving what you desire. The important questions are:
    - Whats your budget?
    - What computers/tablets/devices/phones would you like to stream the media too?
    - What kind of router do you have and are any of the devices wired?
    - How much storage are you likely to need? - remember to think about the future here and any possible expansion you might need.
