Raid 0 vs Caching on a 1tb hdd

I am planning a new build and am thinking about either doing raid 0 or getting a small ssd around £50s worth so probably a 60gb maybe a 120gb and wonder which would be the best way to go about it.

It would be mainly for random programs and videos that I'll be rendering out for youtube the os and games will be going on a seperate ssd.

    Neither.

If you've already got a SSD for the OS and games then just get a good HDD. Rendering is CPU limited so won't benefit from RAID 0 and you just increase complexity.

I think your O/S and applications would benefit more (speed wise) from running from the SSD than your rendering output.

For rendering and transcoding you need CPU grunt as much or more than storage speed. And as others have said, RAID0 adds complexity, decreases reliability and probably won't give you much of a real world improvement.
