I'd agree that the sweetspot is most likely 250GB. I've used Samsung SSD 840 Evos and they are excellent

120GB Samsung Evo 3 atm, but I'm getting another SSD soon, a Samsung Evo 4 250GB!
I have one 2 120gb SAmsung 840 EVO SSDs, one in my Gaming Desktop and one in my old laptop. I would recommend 120GB as the minimum now although my other SSD, a 64GB Samsung 830 is only half full after installing Windows 8.1 Pro.
Lee was that a joke? ?!
120gb Kingston HyperX 3k and 256gb Crucial MX100
in different pcs
I also have something like an Agility 2 120gb in a laptop
This is a handy reminder thread for me to check out as the flash size decreased how much the max writes are affected. Chrome has a bad rep for writing to an SSD far more than one would expectalso they are getting slightly less reliable in terms of max read/write even if they are getting a little faster.
I think if I was buying big now I'd almost certainly be ideally looking 2nd hand. Just to be sure it would provide more than 3000times the total capacity of writes. Not that I've done enough homework (clearly).
Though as Saracen says, though my HDDs are seagate I'm happy to rely on them for another few years not to "spin down" and stick with what I have as
iIt's making good numbers.

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
I have a 250GB Samsung 850 Pro, after previously having a 240GB drive I decided I didn't need any more space. I use my fileserver for keeping stuff on
Just bought a 500gb Samsung 840EVO. So I'll let you know how it goes
120GB Samsung 840 Evo.
2 x 128gb ones. 1 for windows and 1 for steam.
Only 128GB atm, but I have a 480GB SSD just sitting in my drawer waiting for my new build!
120GB Samsung 840 Evo
Still on my OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB looking at upgrading to an M.2 Drive most likely a plextor 250GB but i want something that can hit higher read speeds.
2x Samsung 830 256GBs with no HDDs.
First one is split into two partitions, one for the OS and program files, the other for data.
The second one is exclusively for games.
I had a chance to grab a second hand Samsung 840 EVO 500GB for £105 and that was really tempting but then I realised it wouldn't look as nice in my system, plus I've still got 200GB free in my system so I passed on that very tempting opportunity.
Got a 120GB Kingston HyperX 3k for my Windows drive. Would like a 250GB cause they seem to have better performance but for the time being a 120 is big enough for me.
180GB Intel 330 SSD, got it on sale a couple of years ago for £85 which was a cracking price imo
Ideally I'd get an additional 250GB SSD but I can't justify it yet
I have a 256GB Samsung 840 (not evo) that I got about 2 years ago. If I were buying now I wouldn't consider less than 256GB. 256 is fine but mine is starting to creep over 2/3 full. 512GB will probably serve you well as an OS disk for many years.
All of mine are 256GB drives. I'd like to replace them all with a couple of 1GB units but that's waaaay down the list of wants right now.
