Small form factor large capacity USB stick
Hi All,
I'm considering getting a Macbook Pro retina as my old one is starting to struggle. I don't like being forced to pay through the nose for replaceable flash storage, however. I'm toying with the idea of getting a large capacity (at least 256GB, but preferably 512GB/1TB) USB 3 stick to use for mass media, steam and anything else which doesn't require super fast storage.
Does anyone know of a large capacity USB stick which doesn't protrude massively from the USB port? I'm thinking a similar form factor to HP's V165W.
Ta.....

Hi
found just this:
PNY Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive 256GB - https://www.pny.com/Turbo_3_0_USB_Fl...P-FD256TBOP-GE
Kingston DataTraveler HyperX Predator 512GB/1TB - http://www.kingston.com/en/usb/perso...siness#DTHXP30
Re: Small form factor large capacity USB stick
Ta for that, I found those too, but they stick out too far to be unobtrusive.
Re: Small form factor large capacity USB stick
TBH, I don't think you'll find hi-cap ones that small.
I have several small ones and, believe me, they are *very* easily lost. I think that, given how often peoples' sensitive info goes on these, making large amounts of data so easily lost is not high on the list for manufacturers.

Yeah, me too, but I was after something I could just plug in and leave plugged in. Looking at the form factors and prices, I'll probably just get a USB3 SSD or similar.

One downside of these is that TRIM isn't handled over USB3, I believe. A lot of SSDs do their own form of 'garbage collection' in the background though, so I'm not sure how much of a problem that might be.
