After a bit of advice on my Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD SATA
Currently it has firmware EXT0CB6Q and noted Samsung site has EXT0DB6Q on it, should I update?
Not having any issues, AFAIK.
How do these CrystalDisk benches look?

Currently drive has 144GB free space, configured as single partition for Win7 x64.
Read all the bits on the web about performance degradation on these before purchase but at £34 at Currys clearance deal couldn't resist (purchased Feb 15).
Re: After a bit of advice on my Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD SATA
Didn't new firmware update supposed to take care/prevent performance degradation while working with older data? Does your current firmware has that 'function' or the new one would have it?
Otherwise, if you are fine with your drive, then just leave it. If ain't broken, don't fix it.

Firmware EXT0CB6Q was first version supposed to take care/prevent performance degradation.

Firmware EXT0DB6Q is second / final release, PC Per screenshot show they update a drive from EXT0CB6Q to EXT0DB6Q on page 2.

For the moment I think all is well, how do the numbers look in bench?
Did try to compare screenshot 1 in post 1 with data in Bit Tech review.
I just couldn't see a setting for "Incompressible Data" like in the Bit Tech review.
Re: After a bit of advice on my Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD SATA
You can't benchmark the issue I believe as it affects old data. Just do the update using Samsung magician it is non destructive. Just back up image the drive just In case.

Right I get where you coming from :) , many thanks for pointing out the technicality.
Technically benching drive is not testing read speed of old data, which is the issue ;) .
So I will do update :D .
Does anyone know what PC PER are using on page 3 of their article to test drive.
