Ive got two SSD's are the moment and have been looking for a large one as my Steam games fills one of them a bit too quickly..so this thread couldn't have come at a better time
its probably something, toshiba brought most of OCZ assets for £35m, its probably where samsung got the EVO name

I see no mention of Samsung losing anything, why do you continue to spread FUD on these forums?

who knows, samsung SSD`s used to be rubbish, and were in no shop`s when OCZ ruled the roost, if toshiba was 100% OCZ and OCZ super SSD bus, everone would have toshiba SSD`s instead of samsung

Edit: I've worked it out, you're doing that thing where you use autocomplete on your phone to type the next word, right?

Me-yeah, your account has been suspended while the mods decide whether HEXUS is the right place for you. You seem incapable of engaging in meaningful debate and your grasp of technical issues seems limited, making 'advice' you give of dubious value.
Re: Best SSD for less than £60
so...shall I buy a new Ford SSD and use some engine cleaner on it?
;)
Re: Best SSD for less than £60
Samsung 840 SSD here, fantastic drive, the 850 evo(250GB) is available for £58 from Amazon currently.

No, you use the SSD MOT to get an Octavia VRS!

That's a cracking deal!

A bit out of the price range for this thread, but the Samsung 500Gb EVO is £91 at Amazon in 5 minutes. Better be quick though!

Absolute drivel. Honestly, you keep making stuff up and posting right across this board.
Samsung produced all their SSDs in house, that is to say they manufactured the nand and the controller along with writing the firmware. That's why they are so good. The 830 won many awards. I have a 256GB 830 and it's been brilliant. 10.46TB written so far and still purring over 3 years later. The 840 series had some issues but that's been sorted in the 850.

I've just bought a 120GB 850 EVO for my brother. It's a great little drive at £50.
I recommend Samsung, Crucial and Sandisk for mainstream SSDs. Intel are also excellent if you can get them at a reasonable price.
Re: Best SSD for less than £60
Best SSD of all time was the intel X25-e... 32gb is flash that it is almost impossible to wear out!
It'll probably outlive us all!
Re: Best SSD for less than £60
I would vouch Crucial > SanDisk > Samsung. Most of the time I install SanDisk SSDs (usually cheaper that everything else) but if I can, I go for Crucial. Samsung I see as a bit of premium on the SSD market (if I may say so).
