Which do I have as my main boot drive
I have bought a sandisk ultra ii 480gb but I already have a crucial bx100 120gb. I already have the 120 as the boot drive with the os on there and all my games. The read and write speeds are similar so I was wondering if to just keep the 120 as the boot drive and have the 480 as a secondary drive to put more games on or is it just the case of either doesn't matter which is the main drive. Cheers.

Re: Which do I have as my main boot drive
Me personally would have the 120 as my boot drive and the 480 for my games !
I'm planning getting a 480 myself as there is nothing wrong with my 240 HyperX I would use the 480 as my second game drive .
Also it maybe worth considering getting a larger HDD for your gaming as in real world gaming performance there is not much of a difference ! Though it seems to be a bit of a divided opinion with some !
There are other factors which im sure the Hexus bods will point out :)

I intentionally didn't mention that I have a 1tb hard drive but just use that for storage in general. I found that ssds have a good impact in some games as load up times are reduced when loading maps of certain games like bf4 for example.

I use arma 3, DayZ and BF4 on my SSD but have War Thunder ,Eve Online and GTA 5 on a 500g HDD . Only issue is GTA takes nearly two minutes to load but the rest is plain sailing :)

thats the trade off really, you can have really fast boot times on games like grand theft auto but takes up a lot of space on an ssd and can only fit about 8 games on a full 240gb ssd.
Re: Which do I have as my main boot drive
I would use the 120gb ssd are your OS boot drive. More than enough for windows.
Use the 480gb drive for games. This should be more than enough. If you managed to fill this with games, you are playing to many ;)
Any mechanical HDD you have, use for media / backup etc.

Sound good that. That was my original plan but wanted assertion that was the route to go. Thanks.

What's your OS?
Definitely use the 120 as your boot drive, you might consider partitioning off half of it and putting programs and some data on the second partition.

Use the 120 as your boot drive, put all of the programs you want to load quick on the 480 and non speed sensitive items on your 1TB (mp3s etc). Exactly the same set up I have in one of my PCs and works great.
