    hi can anyone help with this wee problem several sata hdd's need to check whats on them do I need hdd case with psu or can I buy a sata to usb cable to check and transfer thanks

    Yes a SATA to USB will be fine, although you can pick up external enclosures from £10.

    I personally would save the £10 and for the sake of few HDDs I would just have internal cables out or what I have > [SATA data & power bracket]

    I would also recommend that you use a SATA HDD Enclosure. You can purchase these from Scan (search):
