    Re: SNMP / syslog support on a 5200 ?

snmp is disabled in sysconf{0|1}.txt and can therefore not be activated the usual way. Currently the only way is to start it manually from a shell.

Since I would like to have this enabled too I will create a module that allows to start snmpd and provide some configuration (at least basics (community, ...)

    GREAT!
Please, when you have finished the module, please drop a note or make a post. Thank you a lot.

    Re: new Module NETSNMPD

    Hi fajo,
I have installed the module and it works perfectly.

    2 small questions left:

    1. Does Thecus provide a MIB/OID documentation? Have not found anything on the homepage.
I was brwosing the MIB with GETIF, but is very tricky ti find the right variables. CPU-Load is easy to find, but the OID for disk usage....

2.The url <ip>/adm/getform.html?name=snmp is still not working. Is it generally disabled by TheCus?

    Many thanks and greetings

Thecus does not povide any additional MIBs so only the MIBs provided with net-snmp are supported/required. I bundled the MIBs available with net-snmp - a download link is available on the WiKi page. The additional MIBs (FAJO-*) are available for download now too - the link can be found on the WiKi page as well.

The module doe not enable the Thecus builtin WebUI - it makes use of the netsnmp binaries only and comes with it's own (extended) WebUI.

    Re: SNMP / syslog support on a 5200 ?

Just bought my 5200Pro and a bit new to all this. Will this mod work on my 5200Pro or will it cause it to go a bit mental?

And further to this will any of the 5200 mods work on the 5200pro?

At the moment all N5200 mods works on the N5200Pro - actually the Firmware of both is the same, but the non pro version has some functions disabled via software.

    Re: SNMP / syslog support on a 5200 ?

All modules written for N5200 will work on N5200Pro (except a module explicitely states it will not). Just keep in mind that every daemon running on the box will aquire system resources and may reduce the systems overall performance that for.
