Did Thecus plan to implement SNMP or syslog on the 5200 in order to be able to supervise the NAS remotely ?
Dear Sir,
We could access to N5200 via http & https to access configuration page for syslog and event or email notification.
Yvon.
by syslog I would say
"Does the N5200 syslog able to send log to a remote syslog server "
Philippe
Dear Sirs,
The N5200 email notification mainly send the RIAD & UPS notifcation by email, others will saiving in the system log.
Yvon.
I read the documentation, and I notice that email can be send, but I will have to manage at least 8 N5200, so being able to centralized the info is an important point. This is what we did actually with our old NAS.
My question is not if N5200 support such options now, but if N5200 will support such option. (SNMP and Syslog will be great option)
Thank you for the very fast reply
Cordialement
Philippe
I found it here somewhere
http: //YOURN5200//adm/getform.html?name=snmp
I allows you to enable SNMP and then at you can least query the box, havent tried setting up monitoring on mine (home use) but the mibs are there for up/down errors etc..
Dave
watch the http:<space>//
Thank you for the info :)
This is very helpful
You can also enable Syslog by going to
http: //YOURN5200//adm/getform.html?name=syslog
That's brilliant! Thanks a million ;-)
Are there any other "hidden" features that you know of?
Others like Snapshot, a disable function by Thecus.
Actually, you can find all useful html files in the folder: /img/www/htdocs/adm
Yet some of them maybe unstable, our agent said.
The mentioned folder contains the html pages of the administration interface - no documents. So if You want to read them, the You have to login to the N5200 via SSH (there are modules available for that) and browse the directory and files via linux console commands.

Another interesting function is "wireless".
We use both SYSUSER and SSHD modules, and PuTTY SSH Telnet tool to manage N5200.
Also you need some Linux command knowledge from related web pages.
Actually, you had some experience about most of them in /img/www/htdocs/adm directory.
Only very few are not on the web administration interface menu, and some function maybe dangerous for your N5200 Raids.
You can add following 130 commands to "http: //YOURN5200//adm/getform.html?name=XXXXX".

hi sunjw,
all forms work except SNMP. When I try to access it, I get following error:
"You dont have permission to access this service."
TheCus 5200 FW 2.00.04
Any idea?
Greetings,
Ruediger
