n5200BR + Slimserver does not scan music library

    Running firmware 1.00.12.3 on n5200BR

The unit is fairly full (df shows 98% full on /raid/data), but it is a 5x750 raid-5 setup, so there's at least a hundred gigs of space there) so I wouldn't think that would be an issue

I enter the proper music library location in slimserver web GUI (/raid/data/mp3), click CHANGE. Then, I select "clear library and rescan everything". GUI indicates rescanning of library in progress

Problem is, slimserver still reports 0 songs in library!

Anyone have any tips on how I can determine if the scan is just getting hung up on a song, or the dbase isn't functioning too well, etc? Such as the name of the process that is doing the scanning (I know on windoze it's scanner.exe, but don't know the linux process)

    Thanks in advance

    some more info:

if I try to enter a subfolder of the mp3 directory, such as
    /raid/data/mp3/hardrock

slimserver web GUI says "not a valid directory"

which is strange, b/c I can navigate to that dir via ssh

so now I'm wondering if it's permissions....

the /raid/data/mp3 dir has perms of admin.smbusers (b/c I made the share using thecus web admin tool, as user admin) any folders I placed in there have the smb username which I used to copy the files. But all those folders have perms of rwxrwxrw-, so that seems like any user should have a shot at the files....

as usual, an easy explanation! no execute permissions on the music directory (/raid/data/mp3), which scanner.pl needs to be able to traverse the directory.

Problem solved...now, if I could just be patient while slimserver scans 2.8 TiB of music.....come on come on come on!!!!!!!!!
