    4100+ power management issues

    Hi everyone!

I have used Seagate HDDs (power management did not work) and now purchased WESTERN DIGITAL WD5000YS SATA2NCQ 500G 16M 7200 RAID RE2 3.5 which are on the 4100 HDD Compatability list and these drives still don't spin down under Power Management options.
The unit does power down and restart as scheduled however.
I have done a factory reset and even removed all modules and this unit still will not power down as advertised at any set interval of HDD inactivity.

I noticed that in the 5200HDD Compatabilty report *UNSTABLE 2006/12/23 these units were noted as dropping out of a RAID Array. I would suggest there maybe a chance they will do this in other Thecus units so I wonder why they are supported on the 4100+ and not supported on the 5200?

Does anyone know how to get these HDDs to spin down as advertised?

    Many thanks!!

    Regards

    Peter

    Dear Sir,

If HDD can't going to spin down, we could checking with following item:
    1. Confirm all SMB/AFP/FTP connection is closed.
    2. Verify the iTunes/Media Server/Download mangenet is disabled.
    3. Without any USB device attached as like USB printer/ disk.

    Yvon.

    Re: 4100+ power management issues

    Hi Guys

Could you please check my case and ask what progress Engineering is making after I sent the config file on 2 August?

    Kind regards

    Dear Sir,

    Thanks for your waiting.
We confirmed the N4100+ spin down funstion is working with WD WD5000YS, but due the N4100 inculded with Media/Printer/Download module that would influenced with spin down function, we will trying to find a solution as possible.
