USB Discs Do Not Show Up

I'm trying to move data from an older Linux box to an N5200. The older data is on IDE discs in an external USB enclosure, and its on ext3 partitions. These discs (not just the partitions, but the discs themselves) do not show up in the Thecus web interface when they're hooked up to the box.

Going in through SSH, I don't see any sign of the USB discs, and /proc/bus/usb is empty--no devices file or anything.

    Does anyone have suggestions?

    Dear Sir,

If it is N5200 not pro, please update the firmwar to V1.00.10, this version support FAT/FAT32, NTFS, EXT2/3 & ReiserFS, but current only FAT/FAT32 with read/write, others for reading only.

    I'm already running 1.00.10.

It seems to me since there's nothing in /proc/bus/usb that its not just not recognizing the partitions, its not even recognizing the discs.

Just tried it. The internal SATA discs in the RAID show up, and so does the IDE flash firmware, but not the USB discs.

Is it at all an issue that df doesn't show usbfs even mounted anywhere?

Respectfully, I'm perfectly capable of using the web interface or typing commands into a linux terminal. If you have some means of access to an n5200, or some set of tools, that isn't disclosed in the manual or obvious, then you should immediately disclose what that is. I'm at a loss to understand why you should have, let alone require, access to my data for any reason.

If not, tell me what information you want from the box (web interface or terminal), or what you want tried, and I'll happily do it and give you the result.

I got sent the same PM asking for access to my data as well. Looks like they know something that we dont!

Yvon, is there a hidden account on the Thecus boxes that allows you more access than an admin account?

How does one enter factory mode?

What are the capabilities of factory mode?

I appreciate in advance your providing this information and I'll figure out if this is something I want to do myself or have one of your techs go over the internet.

    Dear Sir,

The facotry mode need Thecus authorized staff to do this operation, otherwise we have no idea to know what's going on your sysetm and lose the warranty & service from Thecus.
As like if we chaneg the petroleum engine to diesel engine on you car, also will lose the warranty from manufacturer too, hope for your understanding in advance.

Actually, its like if you sold me a car and then secretly kept for yourself a key and a way of tracking everywhere I drove it.

It is fair to say I do not have "understanding" but rather am deeply disturbed and concerned by what you have said.

If there is some additional mode for the n5200, then I want to know what it is, and how to access it.

Who wants to put this on slashdot?

    Dear Sir,

Sorry forget to add this, in order to protect user'right, we also need user provide the admin password & IP adress for us, thus if we have no the admin password we have no ways to login this, as like we take the car into serive center askign for service too.
