Hi guys,
I have an N4100+ with four Seagate 750Gb AS SATA drives (with jumper removed) running Raid 5. Is there any way of reducing the boot time from initial power up? I read on another thread about increasing the amount of RAM in the device, how easy would it be to do that and would it have much of an impact on boot speed (or indeed, general performance)?

How long is it taking? I have 4 500GB SATA300 Seagate drives (RAID 5) and it boots in about 8 seconds?
It's taking about 90 seconds from powerup to the Beep Of Success

The system boot up tiem included with system hardware checking, RAID statsus cofnirm & application/service loading, also we tring to reduce the boot time to the minium for best, hope for your understanding.

I understand the need to run tests during bootup but that doesn't explain why my NAS takes ten times longer than NotMuffy's....Quote:

Please provide us more informtion about this 8 sec boot time, the 90sec is normal, the 8 sec too fast to believe.....:surprised:
