    4100+ WAN vs LAN interface

    Hello,

I have my 4100+ set up to be an ftp server. I have connected using the LAN interface to my internal network. I want to be able to allow internet ftp access. I have added directories and acl's for the various folders. FTP server is enabled but las no one can log in. I have port forwarding setup and know that it works as i have other ftp servers behind it. I do not have anything plugged in the WAN interface - is this required to be plumbed into the network to allow external FTP access?

    Thanks,

    Scott.

    Dear Dir,

On theory we could access to FTP from LAN port, thus we could access FTP from Intranet FTP to verify function is enable.
Also we could verify the FTP setting is wotking from web configuration: Netwrok->FTP->Enabled, also the suthorization is same with the ACL setting too.

Internal network access is working. I am trying to get external access - do i need to have the WAN interface connected to allow outside access? ie are there firewall rules that only allow external ftp connections through the WAN interface?

    Thanks,

    Scott.

    Dear Sir,

Please try fiil the gateway setting on the WAN, if it is doesn't work that we would need using the WAN to connection.

    Yvon.
