    Backing up a N5200Bpro to a N2050???

I bought a N5200Bpro 3 weeks ago. I'm running a RAID-5 on it with 5pcs WD 2500KS 16SE, 16M, and it works fine. But I want to backup the N5200Bpro to two WD 5000AAKS that I have laying around. Will a N2050 do the job?? Can I connect the N2050 to the e-sata on the B5200Bpro?? Will it work??

In the manual it says that the eSATA can be connected to extrernal hardrives... Is N2050 not the same as a extrenal hardrive??

The support says: "Due to the N5200 does not support port multiplier cannot not recognize the N2050, therefore, the N2050 might not work on the N5200."

    What is a "port multiplier"???

    Any other suggestions???

    Re: Backing up a N5200Bpro to a N2050???

    Dear Sir,

Due to the N2050 use Silicon Image SATA controller is a pretty adnavce model at the time point of N2050 release, but with time goes by the Marvell SATA controller with better performance & technical, thus N5200 eSATA using the Marvell chip for advance performance & ability.
But unfortunely, even these 2 well know brnad having good compatibilty but they can't compatible to each other, thus why N2050 can't working on N5200 eSATA.....

    Hmmmmmm..

Your machines does not talk to each other

So eSATA is not compatible with another brands eSATA?

So, how to do then? Any other suggestions? Will a N5200Bpro talk to another N5200B or BPro??

    Thanks for your time,
    Peter
