Red face [N4100+] Blank install cd provided!!

    Hello,

With the N4100+ i just received , the install cd is blank.

Is there a iso image of this install cd available somewhere ?
Or are the software and the docs the same as the N4100 ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Dan.

    Hi Dan!

That's not good, ok. But actually you do not need the CD at all.

Hook up your N4100+ via the WAN-port in your network. Make your config-computer be part of the 192.168.1.x network (like IP=192.168.1.23, netmask=255.255.255.0). Then boot up the Thecus and start your browser. By typing in "192.168.1.100" as the address you will get to the login-page of your new thecus. Default parameters are: username=admin, password=admin. From there you can do what you want...

For a manual look at http://www.thecus.com/dl.php

    Hope this helps

Thanks Stefan for your quick reply and help.

I'm wondering what's the difference between the N4100 and the N4100+ if the docs are the same ?

well, the N4100+ got a few more features, but the basics are the same on both machines. And let's be honest:
    - the disk drive installation is child's play
    - the hooking up also
    - the firmware is mostly self-explanatory
    - on spots where it is not, you just need to know how to google
