[N5200] Modules installation failed
Hi,
I bought a N5200 few days ago and try to install some modules like SSH, SYSUSER, ...
Everything was OK but after I remove all of them I couldn't reinstall any module.
When I try to install a module, I select zip archive, click on install, it's seems that the file is correctly uploaded (it's take some time)
but nothing is displayed in the "Module Management" interface and nothing is installed (SSH service not available for example).
What's going wrong ? I update the firmware and also erase/create the raid but nothing solve the problem ...
Thanks for your help.
Re: [N5200] Modules installation failed
1.) zip-archives cannot be installed
2.) use the modulename.mod files in the archives
3.) if you did this before and it worked, then I think you've just demolished your module database. Normally a reboot should help. If not: backup your data and recreate the raid (modules are saved on the raid, aswell as their settings)
4.) don't install untested modules unless you're a pro or have direct contact to a propro
...
why may zip-files work ... module.mod actually is module.tar.gz. as tar also handles zip-files, it might have unzipped the zip-files, but everything else regarding the module-installation failed, because the required files were not in place...
Re: [N5200] Modules installation failed
Big thanx, i was off-target.
The first time i correctly installed the mod file, but after that i
start to install the zip archive !!!! (i don't know why) :stupid:
For your information, if module database is corrupted, we must recreate the raid.
