    Question [N1200] File System and installation

    Hello,
    I have some questions before buying a N1200 which looks very attractive.

    1-Can you tell me what is the file system use for the internal HD?
    2-Can we use EXT3 on ESata/USB port?
    3-The 700Mo max file size is only for Usb or is for ESata too?

    I already have a modem/router (DG834G Netgear). Is this kind of installation working?

    ......Net <---> DG834G <--–100Mb----> N1200 <–--1Gb----> PC
    .........................|<------100Mb----> PCs
    .........................|<------Wifi-------> PCs

    Thx!

    Re: [N1200] File System and installation

    Dear Sir,

    1. The N1200 internal HDD is ReiserFS.
    2. System would format the ESATA HDD into ReiserFS from configuration web page.
    The USB must in FAT32 before we plug into N1200 for reading & writing, or NTFS in reading only.
    3. If the 700Mo means 700MB max file size, it is depend on the file system difference, the ESATA via ReiserFS please refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReiserFS, about FAT support up 2 GB.

    The N1200 have RJ-45 LAN ports, thus we could set the IP in 2 difference segment, and using a same gateway from WAN port.
    And the N1200 have simple IP sharing function thus we would recommend:

    Net <---> DG834G <--–1Gb/WAN----> N1200 <–--100Mb/LAN----> PC
    or
    Net <---> DG834G <--–1Gb/WAN----> N1200 <–-------WIFI-------> PC

    Yvon.

    Re: [N1200] File System and installation

    Thank you for your anwers.

    So :
    - ESata : only ReiserFS (R/W)
    - USB: FAT32 (R/W), NTFS (R only), ReiserFS (R/W)?
    Is it good?

    I would like to connect my main computer with N1200 in 1Gb? The WAN/1Gb port is only for connecting router ?
