    Accessing N5200 GUI over VPN

    Hi all,

I have two N5200Pro units configured at a remote site. We have a permament VPN connection between the two sites.

The two Units have static IP's configured on their LAN interface, and can be accessed when 'onsite'

Try as hard as I might, I can't access the units from my side of the VPN, I get an timeout error when trying to bring up the GUI in Internet Explorer, I also cannot ping the units from my side. I can access all other devices on the remote LAN fine though. Printers / Linkstations / Etc

I'm now assuming this is not a firewall problem, and the Thecus units are actively blocking my attempts to connect to them.

Any ideas? The WAN interfaces are disabled as we do not have a requirement for them.

    Thanks

I think you need to draw a small sketch with your principal network setup. Especially the routers are important...

I have made up the IP's etc.

As you can see, I can not access the Thecus units via the VPN link. If am on the 80 range, I can access the units normally.

On the 85 range, I can't access them, but I can access the web interface of many other devices on the 80 range subnet.

(I can't post URLS yet, so take the spaces out of the link)

Re: Accessing N5200 GUI over VPN

So you mean a ping from 192.168.85.1 to 192.168.80.30 (supposed another computer with that IP-address exists) works, but to 192.168.80.20 or. 21 it is not working?

What did you set as the default gateway on your N5200? It needs to be 192.168.80.254, otherwise it will not work.
