    Auto-rpm for fans on N5200?

Can anyone advise if you can alter the speed of the fans in the N5200 via software - they appear to run at full speed all of the time and are noisy.

Would it be possible to include this as a function (so that you can set fan RPM from admin panel) in a future BIOS update? Or, at least vary the fan speed in response to drive temperatures.

    Thanks
    Sp.

    Daer Sir,

The N5200/ N5200 Pro doesn't support RPM control function, but support the RPM monitor function.

Re: Auto-rpm for fans on N5200?

Is this a hardware limitation, or something that might be fixed in a future firmware release?

As I've mentioned before, my system fan is running too slow (~1100 RPM) causing the disks to overheat, while the PSU fan is running too fast/loud (~3200 RPM).

I've been reading about others replacing their fans with variable speed models, but I'd prefer a software solution if possible.

Yvon, many thanks for the prompt reply. Will you consider introducing this feature into the firmware as it would be very helpful. Many of your customers do not use these devices in a server room, they are using them in their homes

    Dear Sirs,

It is a hardware limitation that N5200 support the RPM detect, but deosn't support adjust the RPM, thus even we can't via frimware to modify this, also the RPM about ~1100 shoudl be CPU FAN for N5200 PRO model, another is back panel FAN, and system won't detect the RPM of PSU FAN.

    Yvon.
