JBOD questions on 4100+

I just purchased a 4100+ and will set it up to be a media server on a gigabit network.

I plan on using Western digital RE2 drives in JBOD configuration.

I will add one drive at a time over several weeks.

My question is, each time I add a drive will it increase the size of the volume? Or is each disk seen as it's own volume?

Dear Sir,

All of HDDs volume would become a total JOBD volume, as like:
This week: JBOD a 500GB HDD
Next week: New add another 500GB HDD

The RAID information would show a total 1000GB space.
