    New N2050 owner needs . . .

needs to know how to simulate a drive failure to see if this baby is really working.

My guess would be to remove a drive, then power back up so it sees only one drive.
After which, I guess I would jsut power back down and reinsert the former drive, and see if it rebuilds.

Is this a good guess? I'm not very network savy.

BTW: I'm in a Raid 1 with two WD 500 aaks

    TIA for the help

    Dear Sir,

We could verify the RAID status from N2050 QIG PDF page 5: http://www.thecus.com/download/manua...050_QIG_EN.pdf

Thanks for the response Yvon, yes the lights are letting me know the raid was , in fact, working.

I was just wanting to do an extra check of my own (first time to have a raid, and a bit nevervous before comitting all my data)

I did remove a drive and then let the raid rebuild after seeing the removed drive as showing up as "failed" (by the front panel lights)

the only thing is that there now in the "Admin tools >compueter managment> disk managment

there now is no "unknown" disk showing along with the Named partion of my raid.

    Is this OK?

    TIA

    Dear Sir,

In RAID 1 mode, if we replcace a HDD for RAID rebuilding, please confirm this new HDD without any partition, system would detect the new HDD with partition or not to pervent from missing remove the data.

    Yvon.
