    Hot Swapping 5200

    Hi,

I purchased this product for the following scenario.

We intended to backup our data on the Thecus NAS using 5 HDs and as one got full, we would be able to hot swap it with an empty one. We have 5 hard disks and would like to store different information on the drives e.g. Server_Backup, DIPs_Backup, CCTV_Backup.

As an example we would use 2 HDs to store Server_Backup and DIPs_Backup and 3 HDs to store the CCTV_Backup. As time goes by one hard disk in each 'group' will be full and then then the data will start to backup to the second hard disk in the 'group'. When this occurs, we would like to remove the full HD and swap it with an empty HD.

Is this possible?? As when i created a JBOD array, and removed a HD the array got corrupted.

    Thanks in advance,
    Rudy

    Dear Sir,

The N5200 PRO support the Multip RAID function, we could set 2 HDD in RAID1 and 3 HDD in RAID5, or each HDD own a JBOD volume, but the NAS mainly included with RAID function to keep data secured.
