N5200 Nsync task without network conection?

    Hello together!

I has created some backup tasks with the Nsync tool on my N5200.
The backup is from a N5200 folder to the sync folder on the N5200.
For the task setup I must insert the N5200 IP Adress.

I like to start the backup in the nightime, but at this time the network is shut down.

Is it possible to execute the Nsync tasks without an network conection?

    Best regards, Thorsten :-)

Re: N5200 Nsync task without network conection?

So you backup a folder to another folder on the same machine?
If Yes, I would try the 127.0.0.1 IP adress, which is on every computer the local host adress - have not tried it but it should work.
I assume if You use the LAN IP adress and the network is shut down it will not work.
BTW : Why do you shut down the network?

    @peterfu,

    thanks for your answer!

I have test your answer with local IP 127.0.0.1 but it don't work.
    The connection test failed.

On the N5200 are our documents and other but a network drive has no Recycle Bin.
So if an user delete a file it's lost. So I make a backup every week.

At night nobody work so I shut down some hardware for save energy.

    Best regards, Thorsten :-)

I've tested it and it works (WAN side connected, just the test connection)
Have You enabled the Nsync target and has the used user write access to the nsync folder?

Re: N5200 Nsync task without network conection?

    Hello!

The Nsync tasks work fine at my System, it's all ok!

But in the future I like to change the task execute time to night and there the N5200 has no network connection!
It's the same matter if I'm not at home and the Nsync task starts.

Today I will create a new Nsync task for test, shut down the network and look for the result.

    Best regards, Thorsten :-)

Question Re: N5200 Nsync task without network conection?

Ok, that seems to work really. But now: how can I map the nsync target directory to an external (eSATA, USB) disk?

    Hello together!

So I have tested to execute the Nsync task without an network connection.

    It works fine

So I'm very happy with my new Thecus N5200 :-)
