1U4500 hangs

Ran into a problem with our 1U4500 going inaccessible on the network. Couldn't access admin interface, either. No error messages on the LCD. Couldn't even get it it with a laptop and a crossover. Had to hard power it down and back up to recover. No info in the logs to indicate what caused this.

At support's suggestion, updated to the lastest firmware (2.00.01). Had the same problem a few weeks later during a large file transfer to the unit. Emailed a log file, but there was not enough info in it to determine the cause.

Emailed a few more times asking what else can be done. No response.

Now we're reluctant to put this into production and have it hang on us again and impact end users.

Anyone else have similar problems?

We purchased this unit based on rave reviews on Toms Hardware and elsewhere, but now we're starting to regret not going with a larger, well-known brand.

Does the 1U4500 have SSH built in? I can't remember off hand.

If it does, or there's a module available for it, might give you access to get a bit more information (dmesg, etc) on what's going on.
