    N4100 Recovering config

    Hi,

Someone reset to default settings a Thecus N4100, the data still seems to be present on drive. How do I reconfigure the shares without loosing the data, can I :

    1) Log into this using a serial connector
    2) ssh

Or can I put all the drive into a N5200 since I can access the data using the ssh module.

Or simply take those drive out and put them on my debian lvm system and do some sort of magic (since I read that thecus NAS use software RAID).

Thank you for helping me out

    Martin

    Re: N4100 Recovering config

    Dear Sir,

    1. If we reset N4100, system would clean the admin password/user account/IP address setting, but the data woun't be changed. We just need via Thecus setup wizard to setup N4100 IP address, or access to default IP address WAN:192.168.1.100 / LAN:192.168.2.100.

    2. N4100 deosn't support disk roaming to model, only support N4100 to N4100/N4100+.

    Re: N4100 Recovering config

You are right, I changed my client disk with some of mind reconfigure the RAID and made a test about resetting the config. I didn't lost my folders configuration.

Since I'm trying to convince myself that my client's data is still there since 15% of my disk is used when I looked into my RAID configuration.

Do you have something I can try... Can I rebuild this software raid into a linux distribution without loosing the disk data.

    THank you for your help

    Martin

After more talks with the client, the folders were deleted in the web interface.

Is there something I can do to recovered the data, I ordered a 4100+ so I can have access using ssh

    Dear Sir,

If we delected folder from the web interface, which means we really delect the file, we only search for data recovery sfotware or company for data rescue.
