G'day,
Has anyone had any luck getting a properly networked (wired) Xbox 360 to see media (music, movies, pictures) stored on an N299.
I have no problems accessing media from the other computers on the network.
Thanks in advance guys.
Bear.

I believe the Xbox 360 only supports 3 sources for streamed media:
1) a directly connected usb device
2) a windows pc running windows media center (this includes VISTA)
3) a windows pc running windows media player 11+
No real UPNP or Mediabolic support afaik - sorry. The PS3 on the other hand will find an enabled Mediabolic server but the video codec support is really poor.
I was afraid of that.
Oh well, thanks for the reply mate,
Bear
If you are willing load Xboxmedia center onto your xbox. Beside providing codec support it will also allow SMB access by the Xbox to your NAS.
XBMC - Xbox Media Center
This is all a limitation of the Xbox
