    5200 network issues.

    hi.
    2* 5200 boxes fw 2.00.1.
I upgraded 1, and one arrived this way.

ip addressed as set in WAN as 192.168.124.167 and subnet as 255.255.255.128 and gateway as 192.168.124.129. All cisco routers setup and maintained.

i could connect to 5200 if in the same ip range 124 but if in a different range 123 i couldnt! On the same 1gig switch i could connect to other items/pc's inthe 124 range just not thecus 5200!!!

Only way was to get connectivity was to enable the 2nd ip card and install it to a 192.168.123.119/ 255.255.255.128 and even with no ip sharing it enabled connections to both ranges. That unit was like this since new!

2nd one arrived and setup similar but of course difference ip address. Same problem. Reset ip address to something different and rebooted and it worked, reset back to our original ip address and it still works.

However the IT maintainer cracked a fruity and had us remove the 123 range connection. Then we couldnt get connections on the 123 range again. another very removed range could actually tracert and ping with out any problems.
so after many ip addjustments and power on/off to the box it started working as it should. But for how long?

As these are for a mission important day to day operations with several large 100-200meg video files it has been a frustrating and dissapointing exercise so far.

We have modules installed as needed so i hope the 2.00.3 firmware is completed and rolled out very soon in a thecus supported manor. And I hope it addresses these network problems too.

Is there any other network suggested settings that we can use to stabilize the network side of things?

    Re: 5200 network issues.

    Dear Sir,

Accoridng to the description and found the 192.168.124.x & 192.168.123.x is 2 separated network segment, and the subnet 255.255.255.128 seem the 192.168.214.x was divide into 2 segment too, thus we could would recommend consult with your network administrator to verify the configuration first.

    Yvon.
