Re: Nsync issue with FW 2.00.04

Subscribing to this thread. I have nsync problems also to a normal FTP server. Hangs on sub-folders and does not complete. Also using Firmware 2.00.04.

Update: Stopping the nsync task and re-starting it multiple times appears to have started the file copy. At least files are copying now, whereas before nothing happened.

nsync does not work correct in FW 2.00.04 - thecus has a solution, so please contact support direct or ait for the new FW release.

Thanks Peter, just submitted a ticket.

Just out of interest, can you post the fix to the forum?

Sorry no, Thecus has provided me a beta FW for testing and asked not to distribute it - I'm the opinion that I have to respect their wish.

Unhappy Re: Nsync issue with FW 2.00.04

Beta firmware, again? Man, I am really sick of having to upgrade the Thecus firmware and use 'beta' firmware to get the advertised features working. Very frustrating.

Agreed ! Feel like being cheated, isn't it? But bear in mind, they do have the function, just that it wont work properly...

Smile Re: Nsync issue with FW 2.00.04

Here's the answer from Thecus support, upgrade to FW 2.00.05.1. I've applied this firmware update and can confirm that it fixed this particular NSYNC issue.

    [N5200 v2.00.05.1 beta Firmware]
    Download Link: http : / / davidjaw.myweb.hinet.net/N5200upgrade.2.00.05.1.bin
    MD5 Checksum: a0fdcbed0f0387ca9c892d01c445f766

No release notes, so not sure what else it fixes (or breaks)

Anyway, I'm a happy camper now.
