    Adding a 3rd disk: issues

    Hi all,
    here's my problem:
    Pre Configuration:
    Thecus N5200BR
    Firmwre 2.00.01
    2 Seagate 7200.10 500Gb configured as Raid1

Bought a Samsung 1 Tb disk which I wanted to add as a
single disk just to increase the available space that
    was running out.
Drive has been recognized fine from the system, but I'm completely lost between raid expansion, migration, spare
    disk etc...

I first did a Raid migration (selecting the 3 disks)
using one of the options the system gave to me: Raid1 to
Raid0. It took about 10 hrs but went fine.
Then I went for Raid expansion but it said no space
    available to increase Raid.

Then I upgraded to firmware 2.00.04 and now I can enter
the option Raid expansion but it asks a couple of
questions about making data backup cause of power loss
issues during the process, write [Sì] (that is Yes in
italian) to confirm the operation, but then nothing
    happens.
I have tried to write in the dialog box "Yes" (in
english, my language system is italian) and it seems to
start the expansion (a new screen appears) but it
    doesn't do anything.

As said I'm lost, colud you help me?
Here's some info from my system. Feel free to ask for
    more and I'll provide them.
    Thanks guys

What's that "doesn't contain a valid partition table" output?
I'm currently running a filesystem check via N5200 WebUI.

Edit: run it and it didn't report any issue as far as I can understand the output:
    Code:
    [2008/1/19 9:22:53] /dev/vg0/syslv: 28/262144 files

    Nessun errore.

Sorry for this vey long post, hope someone can help me.
    Thanks again.

Just adding some strange output from the logs.
    Log from the error section:

    2008/01/20 09:30:38 N5200 : Expansion End [ RAID ] [ RAID0 ].
As you can see it reports expansion fail in one section and RAID resize successfully in the other (information) one. Obviously the second statement is not true. The process (only by clicking [Yes] (see my previous post) last just 2-3 seconds and nothing happens.
I still have 1396 Gb of available space that seems I can't use...
    What's wrong?
    Thanks

Re: Adding a 3rd disk: issues

    Thanks Yvon for your reply.
I think what you suggest could be a little bit difficult to do cause my N5200 box is behind a Nat implemented by the ISP and that I can't manage at all.
I actually opened a ticket at the Support Center.
Just a question: can I expand a Raid0 with 3 disks that is actually using 25% of its data capacity?

Re: Adding a 3rd disk: issues

    Dear Sir,

Seem your system with some abnormal parts, lead to system unable to expain the space, thus we need access to your N5200 for analysis possible reason.

Re: Adding a 3rd disk: issues

Just to take other people, who could be interested in this topic, informed, I got a reply from Thecus eSupport service after having opened a ticket and have provided some commands output, conf.bin, etc.
    Anyway here it is:

At this point, it would be best to backup data and re-create RAID, it would be much "cleaner", and have less problem down the road.
    Best Regards !
