Re: how to enable thecus 4100+ web server

I made a presentation of what I did in the following post: Thecus User Group - Customise Login page?

[EDIT: the N4100+ is not really fitted/powerful enough for a "normal" website, but if you only expect a few visitors and these visitors are not in a hurry that can do the trick.]

And keep in mind the usual warning: it's at your own risk to follow the above.

Re: how to enable thecus 4100+ web server

I didn't open the port 23 explicitly, I mean I only installed the SSH module and activated it.

I had some minor difficulties to make the SSH module configuration work but nothing which took more than 10-15mn -and that was mainly due to my "official" incompetence in LINUX.

So where do you stand with the install/config of this SSH module?

Re: how to enable thecus 4100+ web server

i find a ssh module and try to install on module Mgmt before, but when i browe the ssh module, and install, after 3-4 sec, it auto refresh the page and nothing change with before, is the module not competiable ? which i found in onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N4100plus_Module_List and the file is N4100PLUS-SSH-4.0.00.tgz.

if it not correct, would you mind to provide me the correct one?

Have You unpacked it - the modules are usually with a file extention .mod and are inside the packet.

Our N4100+ uses the 2.0.04.3 firmware, which one do you use?

Below is the listing of the N4100PLUS-SSH-4.0.00.tgz file once UN-RARin the N2100-SSH-4.0.00 directory:
Name Size (KB) Dir Size Files Date Created Attrib

    *SSH.htm 18 02/08/2007 13:14 A
    *SSH.mod 558 03/09/2007 11:51 A

Note I have used IZarc 3.7 to UN-RAR the files.

Have you got the same content? If you haven't got the SSH.mod file, there is no wonder why it's not working.

In the CA.html and the SSH.html files you have a pretty good description of the configuration process.

And just in case, I have only installed this module, the FTP Access module and the DLM module.

Re: how to enable thecus 4100+ web server

Thank you very much, i think the tar version dosen't work fine, i download the Zip version and found the Mod File in this, but when i install the mod file, 4100+ display a message "Install module failed since Nas type or version not match.1"
My firmware version is 2.0.04, did you have any suggestion?

    Thanks~

Re: how to enable thecus 4100+ web server

I think there is some confusion here, there is no ZIP file for the N4100+.

You certainly went into the N2100 directory for this download: if you follow the links in the TheCusWiki that's where you're dropped, !

The link for the N4100+ SSH module is: www-freeside-ch/thecus/n4100plus/N4100PLUS-SSH-4.0.00.tgz

Sorry for the dashes in the URL for freeside but couldn't make it work otherwise. Don't replace the dashes in the TGZ file name.
