Can I manually initiate a RAID repair??? N5200 Pro
Hi,
Is there a way to manually initiate a RAID repair?
This is EXACTLY what I would like to be able to do right now.
An excerpt from the Toms Hardware rview of the N5200...
"Nor does there appear to be any way to manually initiate a RAID repair. I managed to get the 5200 into a state where its RAID Information screen was flashing a "Degraded" status at me and I didn't find any helpful info in the log files to guide me. Without a way to start a RAID repair, my only option was to remove the array, lose my data and rebuild another array."
Surely this is not true? I have a RAID array I would like to try a manual repair on.

I have two N5200s running at this time. It's too bad I did not know about this issue. Now that it's in production, I can't just take it down to test.

Re: Can I manually initiate a RAID repair??? N5200 Pro
It's an old review from 2006 based on the older N5200...mine is the N5200BR PRO NAS Server however I have looked through every menu and setting and there is no way that I can see to run a Manual Repair. I'm hoping some of the Linux boffins know of a way to do it through the command prompt. I have SSHD and SYSUSER mods loaded so I can run anything from the command prompt...just don't know WHAT to run. IF there is something to run that is.

I think the option you are looking for is file system check under STORAGE

yes...not enough to solve my issue
Re: Can I manually initiate a RAID repair??? N5200 Pro
There is a shell script: /img/bin/raid_rebuild you could look at; if you're brave you
could even try running it.

Ahhhh! That would have been good to know! I gave up in the end. Got as far as mdadm but in the end managed to rebuilt most of the lost data from other sources and old backups.
Thanks!
