Unhappy 5200 Pro - dead Drive(?) and Drops off Network

    Hi folks
Please help. We are using a 5200 Pro with 5 Hitachi 750GB drives (4 in a RAID 5 stack plus online spare).
At first all was well. Then we got email notification "Em206E event (warning level) occurred".
It seems it has appropriated the online spare and shut down drive 1, but no where does it say a drive has failed. There are no indicator lights, other than activity.
We have also noticed it is dropping off the network occasionally.
I am not sure what firmware revision it is at (it is at a remote office) - what should it be?
Can I flash the firmware with the drives in place? Do newer versions provide any useful error codes?
How do I know what is going on???!!!
    Thanks

    russ

Re: 5200 Pro - dead Drive(?) and Drops off Network

I have firmware 2.00.04 and the very first webpage of my N5200 show it. Maybe older firmware is different???

Since it's dropping out of network occasionally, maybe something is not setting up correctly on the routing and gateway ?

that's just some of my newbie guesses.

Re: 5200 Pro - dead Drive(?) and Drops off Network

I had network drop outs when I enabled DHCP to get the ip address automatic by a DHCP server. Every time when the ip address was refreshed, I had a short disconnection from the network. After disabling DHCP and configuring all the network stuff manually, I have no more drop outs.

    System: N5200Pro, Firmware: 2.00.04

    Maybe this information helps
