    N299 Questions

    Hi all,

I just installed my N299 yesterday (having overcome similar problems to other users with regard to the different LAN ports)...

now that my device is recognised properly now, I have 3 questions:

    1) When setting up the array, what stripe size is recommended in RAID 0? Is RAID 0 really any better than JBOD?

    2) How do I setup the device so that I can access it remotely from outside of my home network? Do I need to forward a port on my router and then input this port somewhere on the Thecus admin page?

    3) What is the point of the second LAN port it utilises a seemingly unsupported IP...my router cannot connect to the other port, so how would can I best use it in the future?

    Thanks for any replies!

    Alex

    Re: N299 Questions

    Dear Sir,

    1. System have a preset strip size would meet most of user's environment, RAID 0 would strip a data into 2 HDD, on theory would faster than JBOD, but JBOD & RIAD0 without failure tolerance, any HDD damaged would make JBOD & RAID0 file disappear.

    2. Following link for your reference:

    3. If WAN port connect to Internet, we could via Intranet to access from LAN port, as like another door in you hourse.

    Re: N299 Questions

ok...another problem...when i try to login onto the admin page, it says someone else is alrady logged in although its the same machine :S

it states that another admin with IP: 192.xxx.x.xx is already logged in and to wait till this admin has logged out..however, that IP is the same as the one that I am trying to access the admin page from :S

any ideas how long it takes for the session to end?

    Dear Sir,

On theory system would log out automatically if without any operation in 5 mins.

    Yvon.
