    N5200B and the N5200B Pro

I just purchased 2 N5200 devices and in my excitement I did not realize there are different flavors of the product line. I purchased these devices explicity for iSCSI support however; the N5200 does not support iSCSI.

The vendor I used charges a restocking fee as well as return shipping.

Now my question is this is there anyway to convert the N5200 to the N5200 Pro via firmware, hardware add-on's, or some other fashion. I would rather do this then pay $200 dollars in shipping and restocking fees. Otherwise; if there is not a way they will go up on eBay.

Thanks in advance for any input on this.

Re: N5200B and the N5200B Pro

The firmware is identical between the N5200 and N5200Pro, there is a very simple hack to allow the Pro features on the regular N5200.

I can't remember what it is, but head over to the Thecus User Group - Home and have a hunt. It's on there.

There will probably be a performance hit because of the lower processor speed and smaller memory.
