    N299 Setup

I'm having problems setting up the raid.
I have already created the raid through the config.
Then proceeded on to update the firmware.
Yet I'm still told to "Please config the RAID first then carry on with FW
    installation to complete setup procedure".

I recreated my raid like 3 times and yet I'm still stuck.

    Re: N299 Setup

HI, I had a similar problem, I then upgraded the firmware manually and created raid, haven't looked back. (Upgraded to 1.00beta30.2)

    I have mine setup with 2 500GB Samsung HDD's in raid 1.
The unit has been running now for a week streaming movies/music with no issues at all. Apart from the known CPU/LAN speed issues, they have not really affected me as I only run a 100mbit LAN and have 6 computers connected doing various tasks at various times from the N299.

    Re: N299 Setup

Hi madmikey, my setup is similiar to yours. 2 X 500GB Seagate HDD in Raid 1.
Did you reverse the process that last time (i.e. update the firmware first then create the raid)?
By upgrading the firmware manually, did you mean upgrading it through the web interface?
    Thanks!

    Re: N299 Setup

I tried to upgrade firmware before creating raid. Noope, can't do.
So there goes, 4th time creating raid.

    Anyone else with similiar experience?

    Re: N299 Setup

I uploaded firmware from web interface, then created raid (with the 2 500GB HDD's it took about 5 hours). It was simple and straight forward. Just remember to reboot the device after the upgrade.

    Re: N299 Setup

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my firmware v1.0.28.
My firmware does not allow me to update the firmware without first creating a raid.
Anyway, even after my attempts to upgrade to 30beta 2, the firmware still shows 1.0.28 even after rebooting the device.

    Dear Sir,

N299 need create RAID volume first, and than UPLOADING firmware (same version or newer either) onto RAID to enable all of function.

    Re: N299 Setup

    Dear Sir,

If Bt function doesn't working, following suggestion for your refernce:
    1. Confirm without any firewall or route restrictions the BT traffic, N299 preset BT port range between 6890-6999.
    2. Verify the torrent on PC to verify downlaoding ability.
    3. Try with following torrents:
