Come on Jack, do as the rest of us, get over it and find a new usage for your N299. Door stop? Maybe a fish tank? A brick maybe?

    Re: New Firmware for N299

    Hey Thecus,

I´ve testing the N299 now for nearly two years and I have found out a very interesting thing which causes most of the problems with it.

I´m using 1.0.0.37 the latest beta on it.
If you can give me an answer about a new firmware I will give you an answer about what I have found out.

    Is this a deal ?

    Re: New Firmware for N299

Can't help but thinking Thecus lost any interest in building low-cost NAS.

Firmware 37 is way old and - so far - Thecus didn't hold any of the many promises made. HDD sleep is still not working, the unit's reset circuit is malfunctioning regularly and the download manager stalls if fed with long URLs.

I pretty much had it with Thecus and will change to Intel SS-4200 in a few days time.

    Hi Iammer,

    Thanks for the info.

Before I go and upgrade, can you tell me your findings after testing? any difference with PS3 compatibility?
Any issues? Is it worth upgrading?

    Thanks!

    Banzai
